Bucket List – Days Out in Wales!

It’s not even March yet but it feels like spring has sprung! It’s sunny, and not that deceiving Winter sun that tricks you into thinking it’s warm outside, it’s actual, real life, warm spring sunshine out there!

When the sun starts making an appearance it gets me all excited for the Spring/Summer ahead. I’m not a Winter fan if I’m honest, the cold and rain just doesn’t do it for me, I was definitely born in the wrong country!

Anyway, back to the point. I’m excited for the year ahead and as that year is actually a year off work (god bless maternity leave!) I really want to make the most of it and have some lovely family days out this summer. You don’t have to travel far to spend some time together as a family, we are lucky enough to live in a country with lots of beautiful countryside and history and this year I would like to explore a bit more of it!

So here is my Welsh day trip bucket list for this year. These might be new places or old favourites but are all suitable for the whole family. As I tick them off I will post a blog and some photos linked from this page and hopefully build a great list of family days out in Wales!

The Wales Day Trip Bucket List 2019

  • Roath Park
  • Barry Island
  • Porthcawl
  • Ogmore
  • The Mumbles
  • The Gower
  • Llandegfedd Reservoir
  • Tredegar House
  • Margam Park
  • Cosmeston Lakes Country Park
  • Tenby
  • Newport Wetlands
  • Cardiff Castle
  • Caerphilly Castle
  • Castle Coch
  • St Fagans
  • Cefn Mably Farm park
  • Pontypool Park
  • 14 Locks

I may add more places to the list as I think of them throughout the year but I think that is plenty to keep us going for now!

If you have any suggestions for some other days out in Wales (sticking mainly to the southern region as the North is a bit of a trek for us!) Then let me know in the comments!

Until next time!
